Tour sponsorship for donors and supporters

Thank You To Our Generous Sponsors
Youth Tour of Gallipoli & Turkey – April 2013

We wish to thank our sponsors for their support in making possible the 2013 Tour of Turkey including the Anzac day ceremony at Gallipoli for students from Roxburgh, Penola Catholic and Hume Central Colleges.

Through your contributions our students have been provided a unique experience of Turkey and the shared bonds of friendship between Australia and Turkey arising from the Gallipoli campaign in 1915.

Friends of Gallipoli Inc work with colleges and organisations to raise funds. Sponsorship supports tours of Turkey and Gallipoli for youth who may not otherwise have this opportunity. Sponsoring a Youth Tour helps individuals connect with Turkish culture and a unique chapter of Australia’s history. The importance of attracting adequate funds to sponsor individual students or groups is essential.

Each tour is developed to maximise value for money and the student experience. To illustrate, students costs for the April 2013 Youth Tour are as follows (excluding funded chaperon costs):

Expense
Per Student
Total Funding Required
Return airfares $1,700
Accommodation & land travel costs $2,800
Other costs $100
12 student tour
$55,200

Sponsorships and donations contribute exclusively to funding these students costs.

Glenroy RSL has kindly provided foundation sponsorship for the 2013 Youth Tour costs. However additional sponsorships and donations are still being sought to cover a funding gap, even after allowing for the contributions of participating student families.

The Youth Tour provides an opportunity for sponsors and donors to be identified with a project of high community value and visibility. In return, sponsors may receive coverage in local media, acknowledgement in public forums and inclusion as a sponsor in College and Friends of Gallipoli Inc publications.
